This
film is based on a novel written by Valerio Manfredi. Below is a
review by Neil Hammond.
This is probably one of the most disappointing films of recent years. I was originally quite excited about seeing it as the novel is not bad and there was a great cast of British actors who I have liked in other things. The plot was dreadfully disjointed and the acting on the whole was decidedly average. If you want a good laugh then this is not a bad film to see as there are many scenes that are unintentionally funny. There were reasonable performances by Ben Kingsley, Colin Firth and Thomas Sangster but they were let down by a joke of a script.

One of the worst things in the movie was the performance of Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai who looked extremely out of place. On a positive note the film is not as bad as some have made out but when you think Dino De Laurentis productions have been working on the script for 6 years you would have expected something more credible. I would still suggest you see this film but you will not be enthused by it unless you are one of the growing number of females with a Colin Firth infatuation. Neil Hammond
