Rosemary Sutcliff 

(December 14, 1920 – July 23, 1992)

 

 

 

British author Rosemary Sutcliff has over 40 books to her credit. She is now universally considered one of the finest writers of historical novels for children.

Sutcliff's books are enjoyed by adults as well and her most prominent Arthurian book, 'The Sword at Sunset' is in fact, a novel written for adults. She has also written an Arthurian trilogy, The Sword and the Circle (1979), The Light Beyond the Forest (1979) and The Road to Camlann (1981).
