Episode 6/13 ~ A Remedy To Cure All Ills (25th October 2008)

Plot ~ When the lady Morgana falls into a coma, court physician Gaius has no explanation. All looks lost for the young woman until another physician, Edwin Muirden (Julian Rhind-Tutt) arrives at court and suggests that he can cure her.

Merlin becomes the stranger's servant and soon realises that Edwin's abilities have more to do with magic than science.  Edwin saves the life of Morgana and thus wins favour with King Uther,  but Gaius begins to suspect that this stranger might have an ulterior motive.

Edwin begins to undermine Gaius by suggesting that the old physician's methods are outdated. As a result Uther makes Edwin into the court physician and Gaius is forced to leave Camelot.

However, Gaius has already worked out that Edwin is planning to kill the king as an act of revenge for the death of his parents who practiced black magic. Gaius turns back but is it too late for him and Merlin to stop Edwin from killing the King?
