Episode 3/13 ~ The Mark Of Nimueh (4th October 2008)

Plot ~ When Camelot is confronted by a strange and deadly plague the only explanation suggests that magic is involved. While Merlin and Gaius try to find a cure, King Uther sends Prince Arthur to find whoever is responsible for the plague.

Gwen's father becomes one of those infected. When Merlin uses magic to help him suspicion falls on Gwen and she is arrested and accused of witchcraft. Uther plans to have Gwen burnt alive and so Merlin tries to protect her by claiming to be responsible for the plague.

When Uther does not believe Merlin, the young wizard accompanied by Arthur and Morgana, goes in search of the real villain. They go deep below the castle where they must face a monster that has has been conjured by the sorceress Nimueh (Michelle Ryan).

Merlin and his companions must defeat the beast, stop the plague and then find evidence of what has really happened in time to save Gwen.
