Plot ~ Gaius appears thrilled when an old lover, Alice (Pauline Collins) comes to Camelot. While initially pleased for his mentor, Merlin soon starts to suspect that the woman is not all she seems.

Merlin finds out that Alice has been possessed by an evil manticore, a creature from the old religion. When Merlin informs Gaius of the truth he does not believe him. Gaius's love for Alice causes him to fall out with Merlin.

Can Merlin convince Gaius of the evil intentions of the Manticore and save King Uther?
