Episode 2.2 ~ The Once And Future Queen (26th September 2009)

Plot ~ With the annual Camelot Jousting tournament coming up Arthur realises that his fellow knights have been taking it easy on him because he is the heir to the throne. So he decides to change places with a peasant so that he can prove he really is the greatest knight at the tournament.

Meanwhile, the treacherous King Odin (Fintan McKeown) has enlisted an assassin called Myror (Adrian Lester) to kill Prince Arthur who he believes has killed his son.

As part of Arthur's deception in the tournament Merlin helps him to go undercover at Gwen's house. As far as everyone apart from Gwen and Merlin are concerned Arthur is away from Camelot.

Arthur starts to make a connection with Gwen who challenges the Prince to move away from his arrogant and greedy ways. Arthur has also managed to get to the final of the jousting competition without anyone knowing his identity.

When Myror realises where Arthur really is he changes places with the Prince's opponent. Can Merlin save his master from the assassin and can Arthur change his ways and admit to his growing feelings for Gwen?
