Episode 2.11 ~ The Witch's Quickening (5th

Plot
~ A convoy heading for Camelot is ambushed by bandits led by a man named
Alvarr (Joseph Mawle). His his men steal and the armour and clothing of
the knights they kill. All of this watched by the druid boy, Mordred (Asa
Butterfield).
The bandits sneak into the city and Mordred uses his special abilities
to guide Alvarr and himself to Morgana's chambers. However, Merlin
hears something and goes to investigate. Morgana is delighted to see
Mordred, despite the danger of the child being in Camelot. Alvarr
explains he and his men are ready to fight against Uther but to do so
they need a crystal of great power, taken by Uther in the Great Purge
and hidden in the vaults of Camelot. Alvarr tries to convince Morgana to
steal it.
Merlin has now gone to Arthur but when they storm into Morgana's chamber
she is seemingly alone. When they are gone, Alvarr and Mordred emerge
from their hiding places and Morgana reluctantly agrees to help them.
Although, Merlin does not know what they are after he tells Gaius that
he has seen Alvarr and Modred in the castle. Later that day, Morgana
sneaks into Arthur's chamber and steals the keys to the vault and then
steals the crystal.
Merlin tells Gaius that he knows that Morgana stole the Crystal, but
since they have no proof, they cannot take their suspicions to Uther.
Gaius says there are many legends surrounding the Crystal but admits he
doesn't know much, and so Merlin has to go to the Great Dragon, who upon
seeing Merlin demands to be set free. Merlin agrees to do so only when
he is certain Camelot is safe. The Dragon then answers Merlin's
questions regarding the Crystal. Whoever controls it will know all about
the past, present and future. The Dragon reminds Merlin of Mordred's
destiny to destroy Arthur, but also tells him of an ancient prophecy
that tells of Morgana and Mordred, united in evil and warns that this
must be stopped at any cost.
Merlin and Gaius inform the King that Alvarr has the crystal but they
make no mention of Morgana's part in its theft. Arthur and his men go to
Alvarr's camp but Morgana has already warned the Druids of their
arrival. Can Merlin return the crystal and stop Morgana from betraying
Camelot?
